Books are amazing. Someone takes the time to provide useful lessons for not very much money. Often the author hands you a valuable lesson that saves you a lot of time. When a seasoned lobbyist or campaigner writes you get to tap into years of experience.
Given how much you gain through sitting down with the comfort of a good book (or kindle), I am surprised how few people try it.
I have jotted down some books on lobbying, political campaigning, and political communication that I rate. If you have suggestions, please let me know. The links to amazon are provided.
Political diaries and biographies are excellent. Winston S.Churchill’s World War II diaries are excellent. Alistair Campbell’s Downing Street Years shows the mechanics of modern government.
